New My Memories Version 7!!

Hello my fellow Digital Scrapbookers! Did you hear the news?!?!  The new Suite 7 is now available from My Memories!!  I have already downloaded the new version and it has several great new features, some that those of you who had My Digital Studio really missed, such as the ability to crop stamps (imprints) and embellishments.  I cropped embellishments all the time in MDS so I am so happy that this has been added to the new MMS7! here is a list of new things...
I love the photo used indicator.  I am working on a photobook of my families summer vacation and I have lots of photos in that folder.  The indicator puts that little check mark on the photos as I add them to the book, so that I know I have used it already.  There are a lot of new features and I will talk about them as I use them.  I am looking forward to trying out the blured photo edges, the tile background and the new text features.  There is a cyber Monday sale going on now, so go check out the latest downloads and new suite 7 at the My Memories site!

Thankfulness Trees

Hello everyone!  I am sharing a fun new page today of the kids in my class.  Some of you know that I teach the pre-school age group Wednesday nights at the church I attend.  It is a super small class that I have while parents are at choir practice or group study, and the kids are a little young to join in with the bigger kids.  We do a little lesson and craft or snack and then we play.  Several of my pages feature the kids and I keep a scrapbook in the classroom.  Every so often the kids look through the book and remember some of the stories we learned about and I like this because I feel it helps cement the lesson in their minds or at least they recall it again, which can't hurt right?  Sometimes some of the older kids come back and look through the book too, which is sweet, or the little ones will see their bigger brothers and sisters in the pages and that is great too.  This is why I love scrapbooking.  Preserving memories for later is great to be sure, but cementing bonds in the short term is even better.  My kids will often look through the scrapbook and see themselves playing with a cousin they don't see often or even there current friends, and it reminds them 'these people love me' or 'I had fun with my dad that day' and so many other great thoughts.  In this page the kids learned their verse and then they told me things they were thankful for.  I then wrote those things, some of them even wrote the words themselves, onto leaves and we decorated a tree.   They seemed to get into the idea and came up with a lot to be thankful for.
To create my page I used this fun kit from Lynne Marie called Nutmeg.  She has a whole series that works together.  You can get them as a bundle or separately. There is also a free add on, which I were I got my background.
This is the Free add-on.  I love the tree rings and the frame.

Bowling!!

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a sketch that is great for when you have a lot of photos to get on a page.  I have been meaning to do these photos for quite a while but never was feeling just right about them.  I saw this fun kit at Sweet Shoppe Designs last week during their big store wide sale, and decided to get it.  Now let me first say that I don't think that you need to have exact themed images to work with your photos.  You can still make a great page about bowling without a single bowling image, but I really liked the kit, especially the big Family Bowling sign.

here is my sketch.
You can get 7 photos on the page, maybe 8 if you put one where the flower is.

Here is the kit I used.  It is called Alley Cats by Traci Reed.

And on a side note to my former MDS Monday buddies:  If you are still making pages or looking for a place to share like we used to, check out Simply My Digital Studio Challenge on Facebook, you have to join, and share with me there.  Or, feel free to add you page to my Facebook page, I would love to see it!  https://www.facebook.com/bethspapercuts/

Storybook Pumpkins

Hello everyone!  I have a new page to share.  This is a page of my daughter and her pumpkin "Felicity".  The elementary school had a "Storybook Pumpkin" contest and Jillian was very excited to enter.  She wanted to make a Fairy, of course.  She chose Felicity the Friday Fun Day Fairy, one of her favorite series.

 Here is my sketch.

I used a kit called "Just one more Page" by Kaye Winiecki.  Her kits are really fun, I have bought quite a few.  This one is super cute and as I have some avid readers in the house I thought this kit will get some use.  I love the books and the book worm!  The papers are cute too!
Here is a link if you want to check her things out.  She has a couple cute freebie digital downloads, so look for those as well.
