I made a few things with MDS for Christmas gifts and I thought I would show you the finished projects. First up is the Cookie recipe swatchbook. I have been making cookies with my friend Jackie for 21 years now and we make really yummy cookies! We have a few that we make every year and we try some new ones too. I thought it would be nice to make a fun swatchbook of our cookies and surprise her with it this year when she came over to bake. I made up 6 of them so she could give them to her mom and sister too.
On the front of each page I put a photo of the cookie. Thankfully I had taken photos of them in previous years.
On the backs of the pages I put the ingredients and instructions. I also added some pages of us through out the years.
These turned out really great and I think Jackie really liked them. Her mom let me know that she got one too and that she loved it.
I have made many swatchbooks over the years and I love them.
Hi MDS friends! I hope that you have been enjoying all the Holiday celebrations that this time of year brings! I have been neglecting my blog but spending some nice relaxing time with my family. Because we know that this is a busy time for everyone, MDS Monday is keeping out challenge open for two weeks. We hope that you will play along with us.
Hello!! I just realized I forgot to post my MDS Monday project! yikes! It's such a busy time of year!
This page shows my daughter at Ballet class, so just loves it! I used papers from the watercolor winter download, but I recolored them to match her skirt! fun!
Watercolor winter has 9 papers that for some reason are not showing up in the preview but they are soft stripes and dots in a fun watercolor look, in the colors at the left. I used the recolor tool to make them match my photos!

Hi Everyone! It is MDS Monday time again! This time Tami has a sketch for us. Her sketch is really pretty and elegant but I didn't have any photos to scrap in that format, so I eliminated the flourish-y frames and kept it simple.
I used stamps and papers and embellishments from the Storytime download. This is a pricey download but it is really loaded with pieces. You get a 34 page 8 x8 book template all designed for you, a 24 page swatchbook all designed and ready to go, 74 stamps, 20 papers and 126 embellishments!! WOW! You can also buy a 12 paper assortment for just $4.94 (Storytime Designer Series Digital papers) if you don't think you will use all the extras but love the vintage school days designs of the papers.
Here is the sketch! We can't wait to see what you come up with! Head on over to the MDS Monday site and see what the rest of the design team has made, we hope you play along!
Hi everyone! I decided to do another page with this weeks sketch at MDS Monday. This time I just used one of the pages from the two-page sketch. I just love working from sketches and even though I already used this layout, I think the page is so completely different that it will work just great in my album. And, the pages are years apart so no one with notice, right? Right!
I thought these snowmen where a bit on the crazy side but cute, and I just had to use them for a page. They are from the download called "Christmas Collection" which is a collection of Christmas card templates.
In case you missed it, here is the sketch. Head on over to MDS Monday to see the other sample from this sketch! I hope you find something inspiring!
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! This week Cindy has a two- page sketch for us at MDS Monday. We haven't had one of those in a while have we? Two-page sketches are especially nice when you want larger photos or you have many photos from an event. I decided to use some pictures of my boys from Christmas 2007! There is a very nice park in town that has a pretty greenhouse open to the public. They change out some of the plants along the paths to match the seasons and I thought the poinsettia display would be nice for Christmas photos. Here is the sketch
Head on over to the MDS Monday and see what the rest of the design team has come up with. Then we hope that you will give the sketch a try of your own. You can do the two-page sketch, or make a single page based on one of the sides. We hope that you play along with us this week!
