New ~ My Memories Suite Version 8 just released

Hi Everyone!  My Memories has just released version 8 of their award winning digital scrapbooking program.  I downloaded it this weekend and the upgraded interface is really nice.  I haven't tried all the new features yet, but I did easily finish up some pages and send them off to be printed in time for Christmas! And, when I uploaded the new version I noticed that I had a free 6 X 6 photobook!  I went back to see what that was about and you also get a free month of the design club.  You can follow my link to the right of this blog to get right to the site and save $10 too!or use this link below

Fall 2016

I haven't shared a page in a while as I have been focusing on my Stampin' Up! business and learning how to make YouTube videos!  I made this page really quick today because a couple of the new girls in class noticed that they are not yet in our class scrapbook!  I can't have that now can I?  I will try to make pages more often so that when the kids look through the book they will remember the lessons we learned in class.  I truly believe that memory keeping helps the kids remember things and helps maintain friendships through shared experiences.  Often the kids who are now in the older classes will stop by and see the scrapbook and flip through it, remembering things from years ago.  They are part of it! Part of our church family.

Back to School 2016/17

Hi everyone!  Today was Back to school day for us! YAY!  and I already scrapped the pages for Jillian and Zachary because I was not feeling great so laying about was the thing to do today!
Parents don't get to go in to school on the first day, so these photos were from Meet the Teacher and school supply drop off yesterday.

I used the kit "Back We Go" from the lilypad.   The kit was on sale yesterday for $3.25.   The lilypad has sales every Wednesday called Something old something new and the items are 50% off!

A firm foundation

Hi Everyone,
Sharing another page from my pre-school class at church.  I like to make pages about what we did in class so that the kids can look back through the book and remember fun times.  Sometimes older kids who have moved up will flip through the book and see themselves.  Maybe it makes them feel like part of the whole? I don't know, but I think its nice to have the book in the room and it also helps me to remember what lessons I've done and with whom.  This was the lesson of the wise builders.  We made Lincoln log houses on a wrinkly towel for our 'sandy' soil and I read them the story from Matthew 7:24.  I think they liked the idea and we talked about how it applies to us as people.
The page uses some really fun downloads called "life is good" from Quirky Heart.  I bought it from a site called the Lilypad.
There is a bundle for this collection for $8.99 or you can choose just a few parts, like maybe the alphabet or the papers.  I bought the whole thing, I love the look and I know I will use it.
here is a link
The Lilypad has specials on Wednesday's and new releases on Friday's  as well as a 'build your own collection' at the beginning of each month, so check the site out, its full of great downloads.

Chess with Grandpa!

Hi Everyone!  I haven't posted a page in such a while!! I was happy to have some time this week to use my My Memories Software again!  I do miss making my pages!  I had a busy March as I tried out for being a Stampin' Up! Display stamper for their On Stage event. Then when I made it, I had to make the projects for the Display boards in April, on top of my regular stamping classes and kid stuff, Teacher Appreciation and 8th grade graduation.  Whew!   My poor digital scrapbooking got put on the back burner.   The new Stampin' Up! catalog came out and I was busy getting ready for that and pulling retired products to sell and making new projects for the kick off!  And now I am trying out for the next Stampin' Up! stamper opportunity so it all begins again.  I was not feeling well great last night and my husband was out, so it was the perfect time to sit with my computer and make a page.  I used a new kit that I bought from the Lilypad last week called Walton, by Lynn Greiveson.  So pretty! and there are lots of embellishments.

Love the kit and I think it paired really nicely with my photo.

Hope you like the page!

like mother, like daughter

Hi digital scrappers!  I have been neglecting my digital scrapbooking blog lately.  I have been very busy with recent holidays and parties and I have been paper crafting up a storm!  I did manage to make a new scrapbook page though so I thought I would share it with you!  This page makes me happy!  My daughter Jillian took to scrapbooking and making cards like a fish to water.  She would look for "left overs" from my card classes or projects and she would turn them int o little cards or pages.  I gave her a scrapbook of her own and a box to keep her own embellishments in and she will often get it out and sit and create notes for friends and cute pages from class photos.  It's fun to see her enjoy to do something that I enjoy too!

This page uses a kit called "Color outside the lines".

Annual Christmas photo

Hello everyone!  I thought I would share a page I made with some of the pictures from our annual Christmas photo-shoot.  I love to get the kids pictures taken every year and they are usually pretty good sports about it.  The kids put up with a lot of poses and then tend to get a little stir crazy after a bit, so then I tell them to pose however they want.  When I said that the little two made silly faces, David simply turned around, clearly over it all.  I did get some good ones though, so it was all good!

I used the My Memories Suite 6 software to create the page.  I used one of their premade templates and just dropped my photos in and added my background papers and embellishments.  There are so many premade photo layouts with this software, so you can start your page off easily and make it your own with papers and embellishments.

I used some elements from the Mad With Plaid kit from Sahlin Studios.  You can find the kit here.
