Storybook Pumpkins

Hello everyone!  I have a new page to share.  This is a page of my daughter and her pumpkin "Felicity".  The elementary school had a "Storybook Pumpkin" contest and Jillian was very excited to enter.  She wanted to make a Fairy, of course.  She chose Felicity the Friday Fun Day Fairy, one of her favorite series.

 Here is my sketch.

I used a kit called "Just one more Page" by Kaye Winiecki.  Her kits are really fun, I have bought quite a few.  This one is super cute and as I have some avid readers in the house I thought this kit will get some use.  I love the books and the book worm!  The papers are cute too!
Here is a link if you want to check her things out.  She has a couple cute freebie digital downloads, so look for those as well.

Another Minecraft Birthday

Last year my oldest son David wanted a Minecraft birthday cake and this year my son Zachary wanted one too.  Zachary did a search online and found one that was different than David's, and he wanted to get in on the decorating.  We made the cake the night before and you can maybe make out his t-shirt in the bottom photos, he wanted to match his cake.  he didn't know that the next morning I would have a new sweatshirt that matched it even more!

There are some fun Minecraft fonts over at DaFont.com

 Here is the sketch.

Here is the kit I used, called Pixel Addict.  If you have kids who love Minecraft, this will really come in handy! You can buy paper packs and elements separately, but I did the whole kit at once for $6.00!   Here is a link

When I made this page last year, I used individual squares in various shades of green. That was a bit crazy.  The papers from the Pixel Addict made life a whole lot easier this time around!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Trim the Tree ~ sketch #7

Christmas in July!
Our Christmas tree is not perfect, that if true.  But, it is put up with lots of love and fun, and that is what its all about. David puts up the star since he is the oldest and even on a chair Zachary still can't reach the top. Jillian loves the lights, so she gets them tangled, I mean ready for me to place on the tree.  Zachary looks through the boxes for the silliest of the decorations, or the ones that make noise.  Fun.

Here is the sketch.
This is a really great sketch that is suited to just about any theme you have.  I hope that you give it a try.  If you do, please feel free to share it on my Facebook Page, I would love to see what you have done with it! https://www.facebook.com/bethspapercuts

CLean and Simple ~ sketch # 6

This is the plainest page I think I have ever made, but you know what? I still like it.  It is carefree like Jillian on the tire swing.  The sun had come out to warm up the early spring air and we headed over to the park.  There were not many people out yet but Jillian had fun anyway.  She played on that tire swing for quite a while and I had the impression that there was some sort of story brewing in her head.  You never know with Jillian, she has quite an imagination.  maybe she was a fairy fling through the air?  a unicorn? only she knows.

Here is the sketch.  You don't have to keep it as plain as I did.  Maybe add a colored background or more embellishments? or see what you think of a less is more approach on this one.

Sketch #1 Neighbors and Friends

Hello everyone!  here is a new sketch for you.  My kids have been playing outside non-stop since the beginning of may and I am so happy that they have lots of fun friends to play with all right in their backyard.  From age 14 to 6  they all play nicely together, for the most part, and stay out till we force them in for bed.  I hope it lasts till school starts again in August!  I had great friends right next door and across the street when I was growing up and I always remember playing kick the can and ghosts in the graveyard all summer long.

Here is the sketch.  Hope you give it a try.  Thanks to those of you who have been sharing your pages on Facebook!  I hope to see more!!
