My Digital Studio 2 tomorrow!!

Can't Wait for tomorrow!!  My Digital Studio 2 goes live! I will be up bright and early to down load it while the kids are still sleeping.  Hopefully I'll get to play around with it for a bit before the business of the day gets going.  I want to learn about all the new features.  Once I figure it all out, I'll be here to show some things to you!
Until then, here is a page made with the current version...
This is my Jillian.  So happy on her first Birthday.  I took her to JC Penny and she was very good, she even let me do an outfit change.  It was a fun day.  I bought the hat thinking that there was little chance she would keep it on her head, but she did! And three years later she still drags it out then she hears there is going to be a party.  I took her to a party recently at Great Grandma's senior living home, and she said, "I'll go get my hat".
I opened an 8x8 page and added a photo box.  I stretched the photo box until it took up the top two thirds (ish) of the page.  Then I plopped my favorite picture in the box.  I added dsp to the bottom of the page by choosing a "Background paper".  Background paper always goes to the back so it did not cover my photo.  This paper is "large polka dot" in pretty in pink, this paper is one that comes with the software.  Next I added a ribbon across the page, pretty in pink scallop dots ribbon, and matching bow.  These are downloads I purchased.  I loved the look of this bow.
And the frame around the smaller picture of Jillian is from the You are My Sunshine kit.  Sorry the pictures are so small, they blur is I enlarge them.  I love the you are my sunshine kit.  It is all greys and yellow, very trendy, and the papers and embellishments are very pretty.
And, one of the great things coming with MDS2 is the ability to change the color of your embellishments!! So the 10 bow colors I got when I bought the download are going to become limitless in color choice!  I will be able to use the Stampin' Up! colors, as well as the color picker tool to match something in a photo.  Cant wait!!
Here are some pages made with the You Are My Sunshine kit!
This was the outfit I mentioned earlier when I said Jillian let me do an outfit change for her Birthday Photos.
I hope you enjoyed stopping by today.

Digital Kits

Digital kits are a great value.  You get so much, papers, stamps, embellishments, and it all goes nicely together.  Mix and match the papers for all sorts of projects.
This kit is called Pinwheels on Parade.  This is such a fun kit.  It comes with a ton of elements to use as labels and tags, accents, borders, you name it.  And the colors are perfect for you summer memories.  The stamp art is great too.  I love pennants lately, so I know 'll use those. And the font on the word stamps is super cute!

This page was made with the template that came with the kit.  I thought it was perfect for some pictures I took at the park recently.  I wanted it to be a two page spread though.  One of the ways that I think is easiest for creating a co-ordinating page is to insert a "duplicate page mirrored".   This was my paper strips all line up, the large square background is at the same margins and the photo boxes are the same size too.  I then go about deleting the elements I don't want.  I copied and pasted a matching photo box, and added some more embellishments until I was happy with my page.

Here is page two!

I also made a card front for a Birthday next week. I printed the card front out on Stampin' Up! Whisper White paper, then attached it to my card base made from Riding Hood Red Cardstock.  I added some REAL brads to the centers of the pinwheels for some added dimension.  Fun right?

Thanks for stopping by today.  I  hope you like my digital projects!

A Blog Just for MDS!!

Can you tell I just love MDS?  I use it so much and just love it more each day, that I decided to make a blog that is just for digital projects! And, now that MDS2 is almost out, I am sure I will use it even more (if that's possible).   Is it August yet?  August 1st is release day for MDS2!!
This is the first project I ever made in MDS, so I thought it was fitting for my first digital cuts post.
This is the cover for a photo book I made for my Grandmother this past Christmas.  She really loved it.  I ended up printing 3 of the books because I thought my mom would like one too, and then I wanted one for myself.  So nice that it was digital and I didn't have to make three individually like a traditional scrapbook, I just ordered 3!  I loved the was they turned out.  The binding was great, the inside pages were very nice.  This cover was a pre-made template that come with the Vintage Vogue stamp brush set.  I used it as a starting point for the rest of the pages.

There are many more pages but you get the idea.  One of the great things about digital scrapbooking is that you don't have to cut apart your treasured family photos.  Some of these photos were so delicate and some were tiny or huge, and by scanning then I am able to manipulate then to fit my needs.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my photo book.  Contact me if you would like to learn more about My Digital Studio.
